This document isn't legal boilerplate designed to protect us from you. It's a promise designed to protect you from the worst parts of the industry our digital lives are subject to.
What You're Already Navigating
You've been trained to click "I Agree" without reading. That's by design. Most privacy policies are written to obscure, not illuminate. Here's what's actually happening in the apps you use every day:

- •Your meditation app tracks your stress patterns and sells that to advertisers.
- •Your journal app uses your entries to train AI models without your knowledge.
- •Your productivity tools build profiles on you that follow you across the internet.
- •Your calendar knows more about your relationships than you've told anyone.
This is the water we're all swimming in. We built SOVEREIGN to be different.
How SOVEREIGN Is Different
We charge money for SOVEREIGN. That's the difference that makes every other difference possible.
When you pay for a product, you're the customer. When a product is free, you're the product. We chose to build a business where our incentives align with yours. We succeed when you succeed. Not when we successfully extract value from your data.
Our Commitments
Your Data Belongs to You
Everything you create in SOVEREIGN is yours. Your journals, your goals, your patterns, your story. We store it to serve you. We will never sell it, trade it, or monetize it through third parties.
No Hidden Training
Your personal data will never be used to train AI models. Not ours. Not anyone else's. When you write in your journal, you're writing for yourself. Not for a dataset.
Transparent Intelligence
When SOVEREIGN's AI offers you insights, recommendations, or reflections, we'll always be clear that it's AI. We don't pretend to be human. We don't manipulate. We inform.
Right to Export
You can export all your data at any time, in standard formats you can actually use. Your digital life shouldn't be held hostage by any platform. Including ours.
Right to Delete
When you choose to leave, we delete everything. Not archive. Not retain for legal purposes. Delete. Your data, gone. Because it was never really ours to keep.
Security as Foundation
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices because the stories you tell SOVEREIGN are often the ones you don't tell anyone else.

What We Don't Claim
Honesty includes acknowledging limits. So here's what we can't promise:
- •We don't claim perfect security. No one can. We claim that we've built thoughtfully, we monitor continuously, and we respond rapidly to any concerns.
- •We don't have SOC 2 certification (yet). We're pursuing it. For now, we offer transparency about what we've built.
- •We can't protect you from yourself. If you share your password or leave your device unlocked, we can't prevent unauthorized access. Your security practices matter too.
What We Do Claim
Here's what we're being transparent about:
- •Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Sovereign personnel cannot view your journals, conversations, or personal information through the backend. All system access is logged and audited.
- •We use cloud infrastructure (Supabase, hosted on AWS) to store your data. This is industry standard and necessary for the app to function.
- •Our AI features use Anthropic's Claude. When you interact with Tertius or The Council, your prompts are processed by their API. But your personal data and history remain with us.
- •We will comply with legal requirements if compelled by law. We've structured things to minimize what we could even hand over.
- •We're a small team building something we believe in. We don't have a massive legal department. What we have is conviction.
We built SOVEREIGN because we needed it ourselves. We wanted a place to track our lives, understand our patterns, and make better decisions. A place that felt safe. A place that respected us as people, not as data sources.
This Safe Harbor Pact is our promise that SOVEREIGN will remain that place. Not because a lawyer told us to write it. But because you deserve the same trust we would want for ourselves.
